Jimbo: Every evening I enjoy a "Garbage Moment"...A small gesture to a magnificent cosmos...I am but a simple man... In search of the answer to man's... Most profound question... Man: I'd say...18 lbs.! Jimbo: What's 18 lbs.? Man: Aren't you trying to guess the weight of your trash? Jimbo: It's 13 lbs. At best!

NoâŠgarbage moments are sublime. I was enjoying mine for years before I ever read about Jimboâs garbage moments in this strip. It made me laugh aloud, realizing that others besides myself also enjoy such wonderful personal experiences.

That bag is full of all the errant stars, rainbows, winged victories from previous strips.

Jimbo also has a thing about snow shovels.Pasquale loves school. Rose has a biker chick alter ego and a tree she loves to lean on. The cat is always getting her claws snagged. Itâs a comic. Gotta have a few eccentricities, donât we?

Jimboâs a good example of how to take a mundane task and turn it into a much-needed moment of solitude.

13 pounds is a whole lot of trash for just one day!

Donât you hate when people interupt your thoughts. I pray quietly, and a lot of people, like to break in and talk. Canât stand slience.

anytime a man can get a moment to himself, weâll take it, even if it is trash.

What did Aristotle and Kierkegaard say about this?
DagNabIt! almost 13 years ago
All human actions have one or more of these seven causes: chance, nature, compulsions, habit, reason, passion, desire. â Aristotle
Boredom is the root of all evil â the despairing refusal to be oneself. â Kierkegaard

Jimbo is left holding the bag! âŠwhat a lot of garbage!

Everybody â Great observations. For me, itâs a moment to celebrate that I have permanantly disposed of some of the clutter in my life. I look into the sky, to see Orion standing watch, I lift the garbage into the sky like he raises his sword, and rid the evil garbage for good.
Phosphoros almost 13 years ago
Good rescue Jimbo.
dfowensby almost 13 years ago
are you all actually reading this crap?
Puddleglum2 almost 13 years ago
@ChappellGirl5,âImitation is the sincerest form of flatteryâ, but The Nihilist âcanâ claim all the credit for that one. I wonât âtrashâ him at all.
