What's wrong with the TV? It looks all blurry. Rover licked the screen during a dog food commercial. That's gross! Was it gross? Mmm- it was tingly on the tongue and void of flavor, but low in sodium and fat.
@Catfeet thanks for the reminder of our family’s Mother/Daughter – Father/Son nights. Mom and my sister at her ladies church group meeting and Dad and I at home with TV Dinners on the TV trays watching “Northwest Passage”.
@Mhic Dhu Ghaill, forget frozen entrees…thanks to my wasted, pre-1970 youth they will forever be called TV dinners at my house! @KenTheCoffinDweller, you’re right, “Northwest Passage” is a great accompaniment to a Swanson turkey dinner—almost as good as “Petticoat Junction” and the immortal “Green Acres”!

I wonder if they had a camera on the back side of the tube so it could become the next viral APP?

Rover could be describing your typical TV dinner…except for the low sodium and fat content!

And I’m certainly old enough to remember that. As I recall, Swanson’s was the thing.

They certainly tasted better than my mother’s cooking.

Yes, but this strip is set in the late 1960’s, so that term is more than appropriate. :-)
