We’ve gone from personal revenge to the instrument of God? I know it’s a woman’s perogative to change her mind, but really, this is a bit extreme, even for our dear Philomena.

For those of you that pre-ordered the Endtown books, the Jarlidium twitter feed has announced that the printers had an equipment failure, but that it’s all better now. Printer swears that the books will be ready for Anthrocon, but Jarlidium expects that the pre-orders won’t start shipping until after the convention is over.

So I was right. The rocket wasn’t just a decoy from the Topsiders, but for them as well. Flask wasn’t after the rocket, she was after the base. She used their distraction as a distraction.

The thing is, if Blackie fails, that means the end of Endtown. It means the ones who go around making suitcases out of sentient beings win. It means thousands (millions?) of mutants getting killed horribly or having their brains ripped out and stuck inside slave machines. She scares and horrifies me enough that I desperately want her to be wrong, but I can’t figure out a better plan than “All ahead full – ramming speed!”

Long story short – when Blackie is the lesser of two evils, things have really gone pear-shaped.

Buckle yourselves in, fellow readers. I think we’re in for two months of pain.

Ursa Major Awards:I really think that Endtown is a better comic than HousePets. I like HousePets, but I like Doc Rat and Endtown more. The voting was up 30% over last year, which could just be an expansion of the fandom, or could be all the contention of having many very good strips in competition. Crud. Sorry, Aaron. You did well, I voted, it happens.GodelAnd the next surprise will be the Hugos. Oh yes, the Hugos. When did our small part of fandom ever get so high ranked? So Digger vs Schlock vs all else. And I hope Digger wins, as she has only one chance, IIC, and Schlock will have many more.

If I may, I would like to take a moment and wish many happy returns of the day to all those out there fortunate enough to have been born on this most auspicious of days and to express my deepest appreciation for the honor I have of being numbered amongst them. As the odometer rolls up the big “double nickels” I just want to say “Thanks Mom!”. ;-)

Please, let me back into this forum! Why? Because this story arc is getting good and I took a week off from this forum to think about what I did! Also, I have comments about this strip! This troll has learn his lesson! No more pranks!

Perhaps it’s my meds. Perhaps it watching too many war movies. Perhaps I’m just silly like that. But I can see where & why she is going. They, to her, are the cause of all the horrible things that have happened. She wants to destroy them the way they have destroyed everything she knew and believed in. Including but not limited to, Petey.

I think a nice form fitting straight jacket would suit Blackie fine right now…Hold on a minute… I’ll go get one.

I don’t trust Flask…she has already shown she can kill without conscience….I LOVE cats but she would be one I would chase out of the yard…….

I hope I’m not giving a spoiler here, but the Topsiders’ outpost that Blackie’s sending herself (along with everyone else on board the ship) on a kamikaze mission could be the location where Linda’s (the koala) son may be!

Birthday Greetings! (I was 56 on the 25/5 m’self!)

I’m not 100% convinced yet that the Captain intends to go down with the ship. There are plenty more outposts besides this one and Flask doesn’t strike me as one to accept half measures. The original plan was to drop a rocket on them, but now she has a vehicle that gives her the opportunity to strike multiple targets. While her madness may be such as to drive her to a single cataclysmic strike, she was still thinking tactically when she rooted through that junk bin for the mega gun. Only time will tell what her real intentions are…

That is the truth!! My spell checker says when I’m wrong, but will Not tell me the right way to spell it! I have a little dyslexia and many blogs are full of nitpickers who love to correct or point out mistakes. It gets old.

I have been called gullible and naive. But I like to think it’s because I look for the best in everyone. I had high hopes that Flask would have a revelation, and discover depths within herself that would leave us gasping with glee. But today, with her invoking god in the name of destruction, I have finally lost faith.Not to say that I won’t exult if Aaron N proves me wrong. Please, Blackie, while there’s life, there is hope.

Or, is deep personal discovery isn’t within your grasp, at least have a frisky date with GatoCat, and get some of the tension out of your system :-)

Look back at the week of 1/18/12. Flask has history with the topsiders, and they know she’s unstable. Looks like a really big grudge to me.
