Hello, vagabounds. My cousin the insurance agent came and suprevised the organization of my bedroom before the nurse who evaluated longtime care came. I can take care of myself in spite of my disabilities (asthma, metal rod and artificial hip, etc.) – in fact that morning I walked at least a 1/4 mile each way to and from the supermarket. He made me throw out a lot of stuff that I didn’t wanna part with and had me hide my shirts that I hung on the door put in my closet. I resisted throwing out some things and explained why I needed to hold onto them, but allowed him to throw out a lot of my empty cardboard boxes – I iove boxes – they make excellent containers, but I allowed him to throw out the flimsy cardboard ones that weren’t holding anything. In the end, I love the way my room looks! there’s so much space in my room now
In the end, the nurse who interviewed me wasn’t interested in seeing my room. I guess she was interested in seeing that I don’t at present need any care – I’m concerned with what will happen should I get alzheimers or a stroke – my apt. is the perfect place to be should I be disable – better than a nursing home – especially with the 2nd bathroom inside my bedroom.
Good morning Slim, Good morning Vagabonds..Sounds like your getting organized, now if I could..My Jeep is back on the road, so I hope to get some riders to day. If you lived in the NEK Slim, you could be riding with me to get to your appointments. (scary thought).Well, God bless you all. Later..ttfn
Morning, Vagabonds! Arye, your post today scares me a little. The pictures you’ve sent me of yourself don’t indicate a man on the verge of being permanently disabled. You’re not jumping the gun on this thing, are you?
@DAVID: Long term care insurance companies won’t insure someone on the verge of NEEDING such care, so it’s better to apply for it while I’m relatively healthy. One never knows when or if someone will get a stroke or develop alzheimers.
Morning, everyone – BENITIN Y ENEAS: Jeff checks out the train schedules in all directions and then says, (last panel) "OK, then, I guess it’s safe for me to cross the tracks now. "
Fire update: 35% contained. They are now working on the back country portion. We are expecting higher humidity today, so it will definitely help the firefighters!
We can only see small areas of fire from our house, so we know it is almost out. Woo Hoo!!!
Going to be at the lake this aft. , then cards there in the grove at 6. Last Thurs. lost $3 bucks- coming back to haunt me- after my good luck I had last year when I was up here- sooo, everythimg eventually evens it’s self out (like Foster @ the casino) :-)
Good morning Vagabonds. The past few days have been pretty good around here. Not the weather, just my sense of accomplishment. Right now I couldn’t tell you what I did, but I do know that I felt good about it at the end of the day.
Arye, I know what you mean about the long-term care insurance. My husband and I are nowhere near needing it, but we did invest in it several years ago just in case.
