Does Andy prefer Chalkie or the barkeeper to bail him out instead?

Andy’s silver tongue and winning ways usually keep him out jail…

Conniseurs of those things maintain that a British police cell is far more comfortable and better appointed, in most cases, than those of a regular prison. You get far better food when you’re an overnight guest of the police force, for one thing, and you very rarely have to share a cell… in cases where the prison system has been filled up to the max and police cells have had to take the overspill, exprienced cons have begged for police accomodation…

Seems like he’s safer in there. Not great food, but better than Flo’s.

I actually did have a guy in jail who wanted to make sure someone got him out, so he called both his wife and girlfriend. When both showed up at the same time, he no longer wanted out.

British police cells must be a lot nicer than the Irish ones. I remember spending a rather uncomfortable night at the Kevin St. station in Dublin after a youthful indiscretion ( similar to Andy’s usual one ) back in the late 60’s

Andy’s better off locked up in jail..You know how 3 girls will gang up on any guy. ( for absolutely nothing )

The best jail cell in the world is probably the one frequented by Otis Campbell in Mayberry!

It’s safer in there.

At this time he chooses to be under police protection.

Reminds me of a story as told by Lennie Briscoe (character in Law & Order)…A man was arrested for robbing a laundromat. He allegedly broke into the coin machines. When the judge granted him bail, his wife came with the money…all in quarters.

Well that’s nice isn’t it?

Why did Flo have to bring her mother and sister along? Is she trying to torture Andy or something?
