Every Friday after Thanksgiving and whenever Christmas and New Year’s are on Thursday I close my library for whatever holiday I can find for that Friday. Past examples include Mauritanian Independence Day and Isaac Asimov’s Birthday. One year Black Friday was Genghis Kahn’s b’day, so My closed sign showed him at a Thanksgiving table.

Wallmarks Cards executives all raise a toast to St. Valentine at all meetings, as the savior of the greeting card industry. If it wasn’t for him and the fact that people are born and die and have to apologize so much in between, there’d be trouble, you bet.
