You can’t get away from it all if you’re dragging it all behind you.

I love it when people tell me how much money they are saving on hotels, after springing for 3 or 4 hundred k (or more), 100 gallon fill ups, and rv park fees. My idea of roughing it—the Hyatt Regency!!

And I used to think people that had fans and portable TV’s in their tents and a/c in pop-up campers when they went camping was silly. I thought I was doing good having a “floor” in my tent. lol

So nice these days that they offer separate camp sites for those of us who have tents. Before, it was just awful. You could end up between a trailer and a camper and the RV across the way would run a generator and drown out the quiet, the birds, the ocean. I need an air mattress these days but still love to put a few boxes in the trunk and off I go to camp.

Thank God ! Snowbird Season is over and all those trailers and RV’s have migrated back up North. I agree with @thehag , when I camped, I was tent camper.Saw a lot more of the country, unencumbered by dragging a trailer. Although, I must confess, many times, I did have a horse trailer with a couple of horses in tow. If God wanted me to hike, he wouldn’t have invented the horse.

Hey, my wife wanted all that in our RV but I told her, “no way! We’re camping!” So we got one with no Air Conditioner. :)
