A few years ago, I wrote on a cousin’s Facebook that I was sorry to hear the death of his sister’s husband (the source was from another cousin during Facebook chat). Then he wrote to me saying he deleted the post because he didn’t want that much sympathy from his other friends.

That’s odd, Paige was in high school only a month ago(!)

From what I’ve heard of this oversharing problem and posts getting people fired, expelled, or even arrested; knowing she’s cared for is the least of her problems.

I never post anything “serious” on my friend’s walls. If I want to discuss serious stuff, I send it to their private inboxes, and save their walls for jokes, funny pics and stuff like that. Avoids lots of awkward situations…

A parent should ALWAYS post dorky stuff on their kids’ walls. That way everyone knows that the parents are watching.

A parent’s primary responsibility is to be an embarrassment to his children.

They must know by now from previous postings.

Starting high school again? How many years is this, now?

I remember when I was a teenager, naturally, my mom embarassed me. She was so darned cheerful and chirpy to all my friends. This was n the 70’s, and it wasn’t “cool” to be enthusiastic about anything. I think we all wanted to be Vulcans.

My friends would invariably say “wow, you’re mom is so nice!”

I guess embarassing parents are in the eye of the offspring.

I was in Grade 6 when they showed use a video about sex and puberty and girls getting their “time of the month”. Mothers were welcome to come and talk to their daughters about the video. My mom was the only mother there. My female teacher was surprised to learn from my mom that I had already gotten “my time of the month” six months earlier.

Just deal with it, Paige, it’s a part of life.

Paige, there is a reason I don’t use facebook…

I thought Paige finally started sophomore year last year.

Andy, you can just hug her, just quick lil’ hugs, and they’ll know!

I tried getting Facebook. I used it for 2 minutes and then I got banned the next day for no reason.
