Nothing to do with keeping the planes up.

and then he said, “Now c’mere and let me grope- er, I mean search you!”

I mean- seriously? Are the writers that naive? Or do they think we are?

To be fair, that IS what a TSA agent would say. Of course, then entire screening process is nothing more than theater to make people feel like something is being done to keep them safe. The process itself has little to nothing to do with actually keeping the planes safe.

The person at the x-ray machine doesn’t care if they sell drinks on the plane or not. The TSA and the airlines are two separate entities.

Only one thing in today’s strip is the actual truth; the word “SCAM”.

I agree with Lynxreign and toonmaster. They search you, have you take off your shoes, throw away any liquids over 4 oz, harass the elderly and toddlers etc, all in the name of security. Maybe, just maybe it will keep us safe, but I don’t feel confident in that. To me, it seems like any time a true lunatic (i.e. terrorist) tries to do something crazy on a plane, they figure it out by some chance and add another rule or two for the rest of us. I would prefer they do what the Israelis do and interview individuals, employ stereotypes (racial profiling), pay attention to people rather than objects etc. They are much more effective at this (and have had a lot more experience) than we are.

The price of soda at the airport vending machines doubled very soon after the TSA banned liquids.

In every airport I’ve been in, there are places to get food and drinks after the security checkpoints. Just wait until you get through security, and then buy your $4 drink!
