Arlo: The dog days of summer have begun!
Arlo: "The sea boiled, the wine turned sour,"
Arlo: "Dogs grew mad, and all other creatures became languid"!
Arlo: In the case of some, "more languid".
My daughter had to bring a hen indoors on Friday because the hen was broody and wouldn’t leave a super-hot shed in the near-100°-degree Wisconsin heat.
We have one cat who was found as a stray kitten in a field during pheasant hunting season in October. It had snowed and she was almost frozen. To this day, she hates to be cold. She will lay in the back of our old black car in 100 degree heat and no shade. During the winter, she sleeps right in front of the gas burning fireplace, a few inches away. She is the cat in the avatar to the left.

My insane cat goes outside to sleep on the deck in our Georgia summer, and will not come in. she loves it. 105 degrees, she’s asleep on the deck.

Our dog likes to sleep in the sun all day – rolls over to get a tan on his belly – but likes the a/c at night. Crazy as a human.

In Ludwig’s case, to be more languid makes as much sense as to be more pregnant or more unique.

Cats usually find nice shady places to lay under in this broiling heat.

Congrads, Susan Sunshine, for being the only one who gets JJ’s subtleties. As with many superior artists, he operates on more than one level.

Languid doesn’t begin to describe how I feel.
