Re: BLACK BEAN SALADAdd 1 1/2 oz. of good Tequila to the marinade before chilling. It really kicks it up. You won’t taste it but it does enhance the flavor.

I quite agree. Denial is the solution to all problems.

Fans of science fiction=very rabid, lunatic fringe. It’s government policy, so it must be so. Think about that, you trekkies, fan-boys, and assorted other space opera junkies and Spice addicts!

I will admit to the lunatic fringe part, but I paid good money for those shots and the vet said I was rabies free now….

And why are we lunatics always portrayed as being on the fringe? We pay taxes too, you know! Respect!

Re: BOOTSBoy do I wish Miller boots were that cheap. My last pair of boots ran almost $300 ( on sale ) and weren’t especially ‘fancy’ , just well made, with a hide that will outlast me.

re blog: I’ve seen ‘the sadist’ movie and it was kinda interesting. Those same two characters were in another (corny) movie called Eegah! along with that giant guy that plays Jaws with Bond. The Sadist was about two real people, and was remade later as ‘Natural Born Killers’.

Okay, name a culture that has been harmed by “culture shock.” Because there are plenty of cases where different cultures have interacted peacefully without harming one another. Generally harming a culture requires the widespread application of bullets and disease, and even then a culture can be highly resilient.

FERRIS: Just off my rocker, huh doc?DOCTOR: Just a kind of a nightmare that your mind manufactured for you. You see, we can feed the stomach with concentrates, we can supply microfilm for reading, recreation, even movies of a sort, we can pump oxygen in, and waste material out, but there’s one thing we can’t simulate. That’s a very basic need. Man’s hunger for companionship. The barrier of loneliness, that’s one thing we haven’t licked yet.FERRIS: Next time it won’t be just a box in a hanger, will it?GENERAL: No, Mike. Next time you’ll really be alone.

FERRIS: Hey, don’t go away up there. Next time it won’t be a dream or a nightmare. Next time it’ll be for real. So don’t go away. We’ll be up there in a little while.
