I had no idea that The Old Wolf bore such a marvelous resemblance to Bela Lugosi!
(Okay, that’s Lugosi in his role as the Sayer of the Law from “The Island of Lost Souls.” He’s about halfway through the make-up process in thos pictures, before they gave him facial hair that made him look like a magnet covered in iron filings.)
(“What is the Law? Not to go about on all fours! Not to eat meat! Not to spill blood! Are we not men?”)
" Ah ! Vanitas vanittatum ! Which of us is happy is this world ? Which of us has his desire ? Or, having it, is satisfied ? – Come, children, let us shut up the box and the puppets, for our play is played out.- Vanity Fair
I’ve got the chicken, and heard Teresa proclaiming that she’s in a bad mood.By coincidence, Alice from Cul deSac is also in a bad mood, while RT’s blog link is missing .. things are starting to collapse ..Could those Mayans be right after all and this is the beginning of the end of civilization ..??I’d better start building a shelter and hoard up on comics.
And I don’t know, Teresa, those canary pants and no socks – that’s a tough look to beat. That outfit gets my vote, but just barely over the outfit featuring the bow tie clipped to the pale pink vest.
Chickenless ones up there, I had to reload the page to get that graphic and the Frog Applause header graphic to load. The link to the blog was there in a little text rectangle telling me the image should have been there. Normally, right clicking on that and picking reload image would work, but outside of that box, it wouldn’t acknowledge it was supposed to be an image. A relaod fixed it as I said. Might be related to the agonizing slowness of some parts of GoComics loading this morning.
DRESS CODECan we mix and match? The pants, tie, boutineer and glasses on the first guy are outstanding. The jacket looks a little warm for summer though. I suggest the vest from the 4th guy. The fabric from his pants would be great for the shirt, but barring that, the pattern on the shirt of guy under him is close to the GC logo. So the shirt should be like that only with the logo for the pattern. The outfit should also include some accoutrements from the 2nd guy. Wrist wear, specifically. And inspired by his fan, we should carry a ping pong paddle.
For the lameness of it, I’m going with #3, although I have tried the #1 look in my younger days. Damn, I was cool!BTW, I couldn’t think of Peter Marshall’s name , but I thougfht he was a Dick.
RE: DRESS CODE FOR FROG BLOG READERSIf I were twenty years younger, I’d opt for the very tight, bright yellow pants and short blue blazer, but mis-matched madras never goes out of style.
Gocomics should be proud, doing their part in covering up immoral indecency. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>But Gweedo, at least the pink pasties are swingers, although the Gocomics ones have a little more behind them..
RE: Blog/ Murmurations- The word sounded interesting and the birds made pretty patterns; the girl in the boat wasn’t hard to look at either. You took it over the top by including the other clips, proving once again FB is much more than meets the eye.
Forgot to vote on the uniform. I was all set to go number 1 before I noticed the little greenish ankle hankie on his right leg, Ruins the look, so I guess it’s #2.

I’ll take blue on blue f(#3) for $100, Alex, but would much prefer a navy blue bow tie.

I vote for the first outfit on the dress code question. And I had no idea that Charley Weaver’s family was the Arquettes.

As for the dress code, I can’t believe these are actual people walking around in public – kind of like the people of Wal-mart – the Walmartians.
