Conservationists they are though, and they’ve really set the bar low,

    For water… WATER!

Arlo can’t you see the news on TV,

    Is becoming an emergencyyyyyyyy…

    Save water… WATER!

    Cool… clear… water.

In Arizona where I live, the water lines aren’t buried very deep and the water gets so hot that we use the Hot water tap to get a “cold” shower.

Black still absorbs more heat. A black painted piece of wood will get hotter than a silver-painted piece of wood. Metal gives up heat more rapidly so it “feels hotter.”

sreejay: black inside to absorbe the inner heat. Silver outside to reflect.zedman2222: try sitting on black metal that’s been sitting in the sun.

Unless you live in Arizona. You NEVER have cool water out of the tap in the summer!

zedman2222: You’re wrong. An aluminum seat is hot because metal absorbs heat & cold more than other materials—it’s an efficient heat sink. Why do you think roofs in tropics are often painted light colors? And what about those aluminum-faced cardboard shield that are strapped over or under windshields? Not to heat the car up!

    1. “Keep a-movin’, Dan, don’t you listen to him, Dan,He’s a devil not a manAnd he spreads the burning sand with water, Cool water.Dan, can you see that big green tree Where the water’s running freeAnd it’s waiting there for me And you?”http://www.bobnolan-sop.net/Lyrics/Docs/Cool%20Water.htm(Ah, memories!)2. The little voice in my head saying this makes me bend over for pennies:See a penny, pick it up. All the day you’ll have good luck.See a penny, let it lay [sic], You’ll have bad luck all the day.3. Now I realize I should have kept picking up stuff with my toes, just as my dad did. Now my feet are deformed like my mom’s with the toes crossing themselves, et al., and they might have been better with more toesie calesthenics.

I’ve always heard it: See a penny, pick it upand all the day you’ll have good luck.See a penny leave it down, and all the day you’ll wear a frown. .On a side note people have been leaving more than pennies lie since I was a kid, I regualrly find nickles and dimes and even quarters. Though now a days I send my kids for ’em, they put loose change in their piggy banks and my 2 y.o. alone has found over $20 worth!

We don’t turn on the propane and water heater in our RV as the water in the tank is hot from the sun. We have to carry water in the fridge to drink. Then again, no tub.

Had to give myself cold baths before. When working construction in the summer, I’d go home overheated & sit in the tub while filling it up on cold. I didn’t want to shock my system, so I filled it around me instead of plunging in
