When I officiated football ( soccer ) I would instruct the team captain’s to observe my 3 P’s. 1) Play the ball 2) Play the whistle and 3) Don’t pi… er… don’t perturb me!
I liked this comic more when it was more about quirkiness than a borderline abusive marriage. :S I always feel sorry for Opal and I don’t like feeling that way.
Now, if they were doing the Four S’s, Opal AND Earl could both be saying “Shut The Front Door” in the last frame. I don’t think Earl knows that term yet. Nelson probably does, but not Earl.
This comic used to be a lot more fun. I used to love it because it was one of the few that didn’t feature bickering spouses. That cliché is so tired. I really don’t like it much now that they are constantly harping on one another….
Take a word from the wise Nelson, rejoice in the wife of your youth and do not give your strength to anyone. If you do that strength you have may do something that makes that strength stumble and in the strengths stumbling you may stumble. Remain as you are. Men & women, escape now, while you can. Genders, this is their dubious behavior, run for your lives. I Cor 7:1; 7-8, Prov 31:1-3, Gen 49:3, Matthew 18:6, 5:20-23, 7:6-27, 22:14, 6:24-29, 2:17, Ex 19:15, Eccl 7:26-28, et al.

If Earl wanted your input, he would have asked for it, Opal, so can it! Stifle thy self.

Nobody thought of "procreation? It]s a slippery, sometimes sweaty, meeting of minds.
