I grew up In Saginaw, (The “Friendly West Side”) one of only two counties in Michigan that doesn’t have a lake. Anderson Pool, baby. Good times, down by Ojibwa Island…But not now….Saginaw, a great place to be from…..the further the better…..

@SU_ you should check out the comic “That is Priceless”, then…gives a whole new look to artistic paintings

Sault Ste. Marie has water all around. Sherman Park, and my front yard on the St. Mary’s River.

Rockwell was capturing “Kodak moments” before there was such a thing.

I just wonder if Norman Rockwell was still alive and painting, would he find anything worth painting nowadays?

I have found that my life more closely resembles an Edward Gorey illustration than a Norman Rockwell print.

SU, there is a lot of intellectual and artistic snobbery, surrounding ol’ Norm…that would tell us he’s just an illustrator who “idealized life”., whatever that means. If it’s so bad why does it give so many people so much pleasure…I guess the only answer is that all of us who really don’t know that much about art are considered stupid, I guess..,.I don’t think Andrew Wyeth gets enough respect from the snobs, either…
