I am embarrassed to live in an age where anyone is willing to make a movie like that. I was hoping it was going to at least be campy, but from a preview I saw, it isn’t. (Yes, I split an infinitive. You want to maybe make something of it?)

I wasn’t aware that the original novel was popular enough for someone to have gotten the idea to make it into a movie. As Johnny Carson frequently asked when a Lincoln joke bombed, as it almost invariably did, “Too soon?”
