The other day lost 5lbs after working out in the heat for several hours. After drinking water it was all back the next day. So yea, to get an honest weight you have to weigh your self at the same time every day, preferably just after waking.
My doctor says he’s running into more and more cases of people drinking TOO much water, as funny as that sounds….some of the things we need in our body are water soluble…sodium, potassium…etc. They can be washed away….
My Doctor insists on weighing me clothed. So pleased with me in the Summer, wearing shorts and sandals. So disappointed in the Winter in slacks, sweaters, boots…
Doctors recently recommended you alternate between water and something that will replace your electrolytes (G@tor@de, for one) during exposure to high heat.
More than 75% of the studies done about “hydration” are done by scientist paid by the people who make the sports drinks. Before they came out farmers worked hard in the hot sun all day long during planting and harvesting drinking nothing but water and fruit juice. .The problem with “sports drinks” is that unless you’re doing heavy training, you don’t need the calories and sugar in sports drinks. Walk for an hour and a Janis sized female is going to burn about 200-300 calories, drink one 32 oz bottle of sports drinks, and you gain them ALL back!!.And seriosly, there is so much excess soduim in the average American’s diet that you don’t need to replace it unless you are doing heavy duty out of doors trainingPLUS eatting home made from scrach food and leaving out the salt. If you’re worried about electrolites grab a piece of fruit to go with that glass of water.

Yahhh, this is exactly how women know they gain a bit of weight….water-weight gain. But sweat out the bad, drink in the good.

Don’t weigh yourself immediately after a bath or shower. You’d be surprised how much water the skin absorbs.

Janis has been looking at too many magazines with the perfect bodies if she has to weigh before drinking water.
