Oh ā and Linguist and Afficionado ā funny cos I DO wear lace-up shoes quite a bitā¦Black leather cross trainersā¦but the secret is, never untie them.Just pretend theyāre slip-ons.
It looks like Graham will either be entering āLes Ballets Trockadero de Ballardā OR Ballard Orthopedics and Dry Cleaners for joint replacement and sharp creases in his trousers. We need to know what happens a second or two after this.
(I didnāt mean that I intended to reply for everyone ! I would never be that presumptuous! Welcome, Mr./Ms. (?) Storm !! Are you renting or purchasing? Keep me posted!)
(OK, one last thing, then I really have to leave.: When I first started commenting here, Essex60 assumed I was a guyā¦why? Iāll never know. After all, with a name like StelBel , wouldnāt it just follow that I might be female? Hence, my question to Storm . I just donāt assume one or the other.)
Alright, Iām off! Wellā¦..gone! ā¦ā¦you know what I mean! Iām leaving the building!!!
Graham just needs to stop in Sadie & Markās Ballard Street S&M Cafe for an order of home ties.pcolli, replying to your late comment on yesterdayās comicā¦for some odd reason, I have a feeling that novel might be too graphic. So a guaranteed best seller.
Of all the childish remnants from Grahamās rather unique lifeās history, it appears, tying his shoes has bubbled up to the surface again. Thank goodness, Shirley is a patient person. They have already been through the double knot, the over under go the right pull it tight routine, the plastic gizmos which never worked, duct tape, tie wire and a new product from China called, lace suspenders which apparently were not made for shoes, nothing seems to work. Graham will have to struggle through this one. No worries, its only Ballard Street.
Thereās some pretty graphic stuff going on, in the quiet corners and back rooms of Ballard Streetā¦and judging by pcolliās earlier remark, and Grahamās position..some of it is probably fairly novel.
But the local āfaunaā are shy and staid on the outsideā¦.so I think a lot will stay hidden between the covers ā¦and not the covers of a book.
Iām just about to leave for my Wednesday jobā¦.
But yeahā¦. Iām sure that during my nap, I smelled smoke ā¦ some placeā¦ā¦.maybe we need a little tequila to pour on the ā¦umā¦hey, you know, I never was a big tequila fanā¦
butā¦.
sighā¦.
Anyhow ā busy day tomorrow tooā¦but I WILL have loads of tomatoes when I show up on Ballard Stā¦probably around 3am your timeā¦If Iāve gone out when you get up, just come in the back doorā¦Iāll leave you a wire basket on the counter in the kitchen.(Nice that the salon used to be a house) Do you want cucumbers and nectarines? Sometimes I get eggplant, too, or grapes, and usually fresh basilā¦.Just tell me what to leave.
You know where the key is. (Donāt tell too many people I hide one, OK?)
Stelbel too - do you want some farmerās market stuff, Stel?Just give me your list too.
Monkey ā that was fun.Not sure you can remember, after those banana daiquirisā¦hope so.
(No Bev, we didnāt overdo. Not really.)
Okā¦.
To all my clientsā¦. tomorrow (Thursday) Iāll be closed most of the dayā¦.Iāll be at the county fair!
But donāt worry āFriday I still have a few openings, and Iāll come in Sunday to make up for this week.Probably will stay over Saturday night, (Sunday on the bus being a pain) so Bev, maybe thatās a good time for Stormās welcome party??
Oh my goodness!I must be losing my mind, and nobody said a wordā¦you are all too kindā¦
I guess we just expect these things on Ballard Streetā¦..but I didnāt realise I was senileā¦I posted that I was about to leave for my jobā¦.
Iāve had a lot on my mind, while also working on a lot of stuff on the computerā¦. and somehow Iād drifted into thinking it was Wednesdayā¦. I know darn well itās Tuesday!
On Wednesdays I bring dinner to the two young guys I work forā¦and Iām glad I have another day to get ready!
Soā¦ Bev and Stelā¦. itās tomorrow night I work, and Thursday morning that Iām going to the fair, and that your produce from Wednesday will be on the kitchen counterā¦.whew!!
And those of you who may have an appointment with me tomorrow before work, itās OK, I promise!
Margaritas and daiquiris in the same 24 hours.Never again.
BTW ā Bev ā I really do have 37 tomato plants!
Theyāre all in pots and crowded into a small spaceā¦but theyāre there.
Where I live we donāt get ripe tomatoes for another monthā¦so I work for them at he farmerās marketā¦theyāre from a small farm 250 miles southeast where itās hotter.
I eat a ton of themā¦ bring home 10, 12 pounds or so every weekā¦. more if you want some.
A few go in salad and some weeks I have to cook a few pounds, but I eat most of them raw and as is.
Mine will come in around the time the market ends for the yearā¦. nice timing! And I volunteer at a tomato festival in September where they grow (and sample) about 150 to 200 varieties!
As for editing ā Iāve been remiss if I never told you:
I always hit ācontrol a, control cā BEFORE I post. That highlights and copies the comment, including formatting and links.
If something is wrong, I paste my comment back in the box, correct it, delete the posted one, and re-submit.
Only takes a sec, and is easy insurance. If you wait to copy till you see a mistake after you post, you lose all the html and have to redo all the paragraph breaks and links and italics.
I was sooooooo confused. All day, I thought it was Tuesday and then, you convinced me it was Wednesday. I know the Ballard Commissioners recently extended the Ballard County lines, but did that include crossing the International Dateline??I started to think, āPerhaps sooooā¦ā¦!ā
Sooooo, when do I pick up tomatoes, cukes, whatever greens you can spare and scallions, avocadoes and limes? Do you have limes?
(You know, Iām 3 hours ahead of you, so there are times Iām on a different day than you, but then, itās the same day. Now, my headās spinningā¦the wrong way. Taking everything into account, maybe Bev can pick up my veggies for me. Thanksā¦.!)
āThis weather is getting really, really old.ā++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Speaking of weather, do you think Storm might like this old lighthouse and weather station property that just became available? Maybe she could forecast some cool and rainy weather for your end of Ballard St. Some nice gentle, steady rain ā not a violent downpour. Just a thought.
Looks like Grahamās taken a lesson from the trailer of the new Minions movie.

Good Morning Cleophans!
Went to a 21st birthday party for my pseudo grandchild yesterday. Of course it was at a sports bar. Unfortunately, the room was next to the outside patio where smoking is allowed and as much as I tried to avoid it, I am so paying for it today. I have learned my lesson. Love you to pieces, hereās your doorstep delivery Amazon gift card. Air hugs.

Wow, Graham should try out for āLes Ballets Trockadero de Ballard.ā
Iām sure Monsieur Jean FranƧois (psssstā¦. stage name of Gene Franklin from Ballard Hardware) would love to give someone so agile an audition.
No money in it, of course, and only local fameā¦.but oh, the glory, the glory.
Usuallyā¦. but of course, this IS Ballard Streetā¦. Ethel is a womanās name and Ethyl is gasoline.
Then again, X did say she was wearing pumps, so maybeā¦..

No late parties for me tonight/this morning ā¦. Iām falling asleep.
Itās straight to the salon and a long nap before I open.
See you all at the crack of noon!
