Reminds me of the time I was working at a Bread/Cake/Pastry shop. I work doing some danishes when I discovered what look like a green caterpillar on a strawberry from a carton.
Picking up the strawberry with caterpillar, I went to show/report it to my co-worker who I was teaching me how to do pastries.
Now I figured despite being a girl, she was not afraid of handling a strawberry with a little caterpillar on it. As she was examining, she seemed all quiet and calm. Boy was I in for a surprise or two…
Three and a half seconds… I swear I clearly heard a light-bulb slowly warming up than cracking as she went way pass the apex of her epiphany.
She let out a loud “Gaargh!!!” and everyone in the shop heard her…
My two funny surprises… First, she was afraid after all, go figure. Second, it took her a long three and a half seconds for her head to register what she had in her hand was a strawberry with caterpillar on it.
It was all so darn funny, to this very day I’m still laughing…
My wife, who was nearly a biology major, once ended up teaching math in a country school. Her students, who had no idea she was used to handling spiders, once thought that they’d scare her by putting some on her desk. She let them crawl over her hands and arms a while before finding a little box to put them in and take them outside. “Nice little guys” she called them. Completely deflated the students, who expected a reaction similar to Rose’s here.
Rose works in her garden. Worms are a beneficial part of gardening. What the heck is Rose getting all girly about? Once caught a garter snake and brought it home to “scare” Mom. Didn’t. But scared the heck out of big bad cop, Dad!

That’s another reason we like girls. It’s so easy and fun to gross them out.

Is the bird trying to ‘worm’ his way into the pool?

A nice, juicy worm is nothing ‘to sneeze at’ (at which to sneeze)!

If Rose catches the bird, she’ll throw the book at him, and he’ll be singing another tune!
