Transcript:
VO: An incredible "Sno-cone" catch!! NATE: Welcome back to Fenway Park, where the Boston Red Sox are deep into extra innings against the hated Yankees! Right fielder Nate Wright has already made several out standing defensive plays today, Joe. Will he make another? I wouldn't bet against it, Dave! KRAK! NATE: ...and there's a drive! Deep down the line! Wright gets a great jump on the ball! He's sprinting back...back! To the warning track! To the wall! Wright leaps! And makes a tremendous catch! What a phenomenal grab! Nate Wright has just saved the game! And the crowd is going absolutely wild!! MAN: Your kid just caught a pop-up. DAD: Hm?

Neat, that Lincoln has book-ended the current game in “the dailies” with two consecutive Sunday strips about baseball. A nice tribute to “the boys of summer”!
So, let’s assume that Marty’s actually present (in a kinda-sorta-sorta-kinda way) at the present game where Chad is being summoned to save the day?

Despite playing sports in high school and college, I never got too emotional about it. I never “hated” my cross town or conference rivals, even though my alma mater has the longest and most storied rivalry in college football. IMO, only fans living vicariously thru someone else thinks about their teams rivals as “hated” “despised”. Most pro athletes aren’t so melodramatic about it, since they have been playing with and against each other for years.

This is so me. I don’t pay attention to much of anything, unless it’s about Big Nate. :)

Marty should pay more attention into Nate’s baseball game, and that’s just so discourteous that he disregarded Nate’s pop-up.
