OK, the chief complaint about this strip is that it’s too preachy. as a teacher, I disagree….but, this is beyond the pale….This arc is sabotage, subterfuge, dishonesty and trickery. And he would have seen those things anyway, when dad or mom took the thing away. Frazz isn’t his parent. Let the parents do their job…A little respect for the parents, please…

And Frazz owes the parents of the little whiner, big time..(You know he whined!) And he’s telling Frazz about how cool it was now, but at the time, I bet he only acknowledged it with a bored sigh…and a disgusted grunt…Bet he was a lot of fun to be with…Good one Frazz………………Maybe somebody should talk to Miss Plainwell about this………

Too many parents use electronic devices to babysit children. When mine were very young, I had a bag with a book or two, a couple of coloring books, and either a small puzzle toy or a few legos. When I was young, we did “scavenger hunts” where we looked for things on a list as we rode. Deer, red birds, alaska license plates, etc. It was fun and encouraged us to look at the world. Frazz may know this child’s parents and his deceptiveness gave the child something he would have otherwise not had…memories of a vacation with his family.Respectfully, C.

When we were young, we only went on three vacations where we were allowed to take electronic games, the Ozarks (which was supposed to be a 10+ hour drive and we weren’t allowed to turn them on until halfway) and the southern tip of Texas, which was over 24 hours drive one-way were the only road trips. The third was when on the plane to Florida. I don’t think that Frazz should have over-ruled the parents (in any way), but I agree, too many parents use electronics to babysit their kids so they don’t have to deal with them.

Nowadays very few use maps, they use GPS. When I went through Army basic, I was the only one who could read a map.

It’s obvious who are the commenters who are addicted to their electronics so much that they go nuts when a ficticious character doesn’t have theirs. cuckoo… cuckoo

Screw the parents. We’re going to have to deal with the little %&#!!ucker when they get free of him/her/whatever. Kids raised by electronics…all of them…are kids seriously abused.

As are WE the People when they are upon us, slavering and twitching…what do you think zombies etc are, anyway?

Sorry, as a veteran of inumerable long car trips as a child, I would have loved a portable game device. Yes, there was one farm with buffalo on it, instead of cows, but that was about it from Harrisburg, PA to Christiansburg, VA on I-81.

now lock frazz in the room with the kid’s PARENTS… who spent the entire car ride to and from with “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? I’m bored! I gotta pee! I’m hungry! I’m still bored! Are we there yet? Are we there yet?”

Tigger, you could be right, but he wouldn’t tell Frazz if he was whining or sullen or cranky or bored, anyway…..

bigpuma, I love illogical extensions of logic. I find it a great mental exercise, and it makes me laugh. I’d love to know what kind of stunt Frazz might pull on Ms. Plainwell….if he dares……

BTW, I saw a big puma (we call ‘em cougars here), up near Lake Superior. The DNR tells us they aren’t here, but I’ve seen one, with a friend. Don’t tell they ain’t here….Should I believe the DNR or believe my lyin’ eyes? They say people often mistake other cats for pumas….. Yeah, uh huh… I see a lot of tawny tan colored, four foot long tabbies, with three a foot tails, cross the road in front of me in three effortless hops. It was less than 100 ft away from us….bigpuma, it was….

And here all this time I thought the idea was: A bigpuma is to Frazz as a tiger is to Calvin. It never occurred to me to google it.

actually, I watched the sites most of the time, as I already enjoyed that. Except the flight was at night and the trip to texas included some night driving and driving through a blizzard, so not much to see at those times.
