I just love Labs. We were in North Cascades National Park this weekend and a guy walked by with a Lab on a leash. The dog wanted so much to come over and say hello to me. He wasn’t allowed but that didn’t stop him from continuing to try.
My dobermans do that too. Scarlet has gotten worse about it since she became pregnant. She’ll roll over for anybody, but Carl keeps a close eye on everything. He is a protective daddy. And if he takes half as good a care of the puppies as he did the mini dachsund, everybody is going to be just fine.
Not just dogs, my kitty does EXACTLY this towards our chairs until we pet her or she’s allowed in our laps. The scooting with tummy exposed was esp funny when my kids were first learning to crawl, she would be laying on the rug just out of reach and as they managed to move towards her she’d scoot just a little further out of reach.

Those feet remind me of Pauley Perrette’s Twitter (Abby in NCIS). And she is definitely a dog person. http://twitpic.com/afz017

I love this! I haven’t had a dog in years, but I’m “auntie” to a number of ’em. This is such typical, wonderful doggie behavior.

My lab wouldn’t roll over and didn’t like tummy rubs. My husky can’t get enough of them.

My dog was a lot more aggressive about it. He would come over to you and sit on your feet so you had to pet him :)
