    Bev -so…. wait….his love back in high school was a computer?And he’s found her again?She doesn’t look like a Univac….

I miss some of my old computers but I don’t actually want to be reunited with my Commodore, my 386 or even my beloved AMD K6-2.

Hmm… the 386 blew up, more or less…. and I gave away the Commodore…. and the old 8088….

but I would bet my 486 … _and _the K6-2 ….are buried someplace in my shed, taking up space….Yay, something to get rid of!

I really don’t think I’ll ever be going back to DOS…. or even Windows 2000.

Hey should we be having a campaign rally/picnic this weekend?

Do we need to raise funds for a last-minute push?

We can do hot dogs in the park again…

I’ve still got a case of Monkey ketchup and a few cases of Monkey Cola…all donations so they should get used up….

Hey Bev, if you remember visiting Panama on the east coast, then the ruins you visited were at Ft. San Lorenzo, which Morgan’s men took from Spain in 1671 then crossed Panama to attack Portobelo on the Pacific side ( ruins there too ) . Morgan occupied San Lorenzo til 1672 when he sailed back to England to be knighted and made Governor of Jamaica.San Lorenzo was rebuilt ( higher up the hill ) only to have the British bombard it again in 1740. It was rebuilt again in 1761.At one time it was even used has a prison.Hope this helps jog your memory.

Chet, listen to me; its not too late and you don’t have to hit rock bottom to begin again. Starting over is easy; its going through withdrawal that is the difficult part. What started as an innocent game of on line checkers has morphed and grown into a life of its own. Don’t be smug, don’t be pleased; don’t be proud; you have come off the rails. Shirley tried to warn you. First about the galloping gourmet, then fantasy football, then YouTube, then world poker final table, then Facebook, then Ebay and now you have named the computer and the microwave, the remote control and garage opener. Think back, surely you remember rehearsing for the spring may day festival and how fun that was; think back to your first sweet taste of polka dot madness; Rusty Boys’ first back up barking episode; how about the extend o matic collapsible arm and the wonderful developmental hours spent on that cutie; go back to wheel rollers…OK, maybe not…..But look on the horizon, what do you see, woodworking, remote controlled model airplanes, homemade ice cream, 42 favors, dog training, you were once interested in leather braiding, how about National Geographic magazine, Photographers Edition, take up bowling, go back to therapy. Go back to work, just don’t go there…..

My first thought when I saw Chet in his computer room was that HE enjoyed putting on the wig, hat and nametag and going on-line as, of course, Sandy. It never occured to me that he named his computer “Sandy”, and made sure it was nicely coiffed and “hatted”.

I suppose, either way, he must love living on Ballard St.

Well, I’m going to shut down LuluBel now…..be back tonight.

I have a name for my PC but if I told you, they’d ban me from the site.Weirdness abounds. As I was writing this we had a power surge that knocked me right off the computer and took me forever to get back up. Guess I shouldn’t cuss out my PC.

Rum and steak at the Lighthouse tonight sounds great to ME!!

I suppose we ought to ask Storm, though…it being her house and all…Hey, Stormy, what say you?

How about a buck for a dog or a cola, 100% to the campaign…Linguist can set the prices for the steak and rum…remember, this one’s a fundraiser…(do you need to recoup expenses out of it Linguist?)

It might be chilly, so I was experimenting with some special soup to spell out campaign slogans, like

But it sometimes says stuff that could be… well…. misinterpreted:

X-Tech!Are you around? Do you have anything in the lab that would fix that?(And it has to be edible,X!)

Anyway, proceeds will buy some last-minute airtime on Wbal radio and BSTV.And pay for gas so volunteers can drive our housebound elderly and those without other transportation to the polls. We can’t restrict the latter to Monkey voters or talk about him within 50 yards of the polling places…but when we call with the offer we can make sure they know who’s helping them.“The Monkey’s on YOUR side!”

Yes, please! I’m not sure what effect electrifying the soup would have on future edibility, as long as we remember to disconnect it before serving.(would that mean a return to randomization, though?)

But if we need to test it on a troll… OK…. I know some are against it…. but I have one in mind…oh please pleeeeeze X…could I just test it on one little troll?

    To all —

I’m heading out to Storm’s place soon…Wanna make sure it’s OK for everybody to show up…though I imagine others are there already.

If I don’t hear yelling, it’ll probably be OK.Of course, with a name like that, Storm may be a yeller even if it IS OK.X… can you or the dogs give ME a ride out there from the salon with all that food?Otherwise I’ll call Bev or Stel…We may have to experiment with the ASSUME (hey, niiiice! ) right there at the party….if you think it’s OK to ASSUME at a public gathering.(sorry it took me so long to catch that!)

    Hi X and Bev …

X, I’d love to go out there in the huge truck…I’d get a whole new (semi-airborne) view of Ballard St!

I’m more comfortable with old trucks full of dogs than with shiny sportscars, anyhow…. whatever that says about me.

Bev, that would make more sense, as X’s lab is close to my salon, and you live way out near Stormy’s.If that’s OK with you, X.

We sure have some late parties around this street!I think it’s cos time is flexible here…Some people are getting up while others are going to bed…. and it’s always dinner time.

Still haven’t heard from Storm…. but somebody would have come back and reported by now if there were a problem.

    X—A rather sad photo…. sniffle….

    Has anybody heard from Mona?

I thought something had gone into Essex’s Sausage Hut location….But perhaps not.

My salon isn’t far from there but I donn’t walk in that direction a lot…

I get a little nervous on those sidewalks cos I’m scared of heights…

As for the troll, X….It’s a pretty small one…. I think…Well…. compared to some, cos it’s … no….I shouldn’t say anything ….I will say that it tried to wound me today with its little pointy tongue….but I’m pretty impervious.Any time you pick it up, it bites you.

Red — that’s actually the only Dylan cover I can think of that I’d rather listen to than the originalThey made his music pretty and melodic, and I usually prefer Dylan’s rough twang…but for “My Back Pages” the words are drama enough…

I believe Pirating was not a respecable professin… privateering on the other hand was…lol not much different except a privateer was licensed and a so had to give his goverment a share and a pirate kept it all for themselves.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kind of, Sort of…. As an old Buccaneer – a term sometime used interchangeably with privateer – the term pirate was usually applied to later, smaller groups that attacked ships in the Indian Ocean, Africa and sometimes the Eastern American coast.Buccaneers confined themselves to generally harassing the enemies of the country the had “letters of marque” from. While it was true that they were supposed to give a share to the Crown or to their Corporate sponsors ( failure got Capt. Kidd hanged ), many were ‘freebooters’ who kept the loot. As on my ship today, Buccaneer companies were founded on Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity and the captain is elected by the crew. Also the buccaneer crew, not the captain decided which ship or ships would be attacked. My grand son, when small, couldn’t pronounce Buccaneers. He called them Bucket Ears.
