I was in either my Freshman or Sophomore year in HS when these first came out. God I loved them! I constantly got in trouble with the librarian because I would laugh out loud. This was one of the best plot lines that Bill W came up with!

True that Suzie is the intellectual type, but so is Hobbes. Plus I always felt like Suzie didn’t think Calvin was worth her time/effort unless she had a crush on him, and if she had a crush on him, the mysterious letters would have had a different theme to them :-)

See? I knew it! It has to be Hobbes! Nobody else would bother with Calvin! Hobbes is it!

okay, the idea is that Calvin’s imagination is SO active Hobbes goes from stuffed animal to imaginary friend. But how exactly does THIS work?! If Calvin was actually cutting up the letters but still surprised (to the point of losing sleep and not paying attention in class) then that means Hobbes has gone from imaginary friend to full blown second personality!

Calvin really needs a shrink. BTW has anyone ever seen the Robot Chicken skit
