I like Annie’s attitude, realistic and non-blaming.If Lila’s serious though, a good Dojo will probably work well for her. Not to mention how cute she’d look in the “Pajamas!”

Why didn’t Lila give Annie a hug?

@Robert Briggs that’s a very good observation. There is an unrealistically low level of normal physical contact between the characters in this comic. Perhaps hugging is difficult to draw – maybe JWF can shed some light?

The boxing gloves around her neck confused me until I zoomed. I thought it was some sort of protective bra!

I think Boyd and Alan have both probably thrown a few jabs during the end of season sale in the Polo dept…

@Matthew Cawthorne and Briggs. That’s a good question and has nothing to do with the difficulty drawing. As I spend time with my mother and sick father, I’m realizing that we didn’t have a very affectionate upbringing. Odd for an Italian family. I guess it comes across in LILA. I didn’t even THINK about Lila giving Annie a hug. That is so interesting and revealing!

If a child sat in the corner, repeatedly banging his or her head against the wall, we would take that child to a doctor to find out what was causing the behavior. But if they strap on boxing gloves, it’s okay despite the fact that they both have the same outcome n later years – high risk of dementia and other brain disorders.

Right, because gay guys don’t box….or play football. Pull the other leg, it’s got bells on.

Sorry to all those out there who didn’t get hugged. Parents and other carers have lots of different ways of showing their love – if everyone was the same, wouldn’t the world be a boring place?

@momix, funny what you said about your mother. My mother would often take that approach, too. But I think it’s because they didn’t want us to get hurt. I never new about the “Other One,” Night-Guant. I hope “he” has a better love life than i do, LOL!
