out door carpet would be maybe, an outside joke?

This is a Social Security joke…you don’t get until your 62

I think the joke is that they carpeted over the areas where they previously had rugs, including the actual rugs. Presumable because they were no good at geometry and thus could not work out the holes to cut in the carpet for the rugs.Not sure about the “inside” reference, maybe what chireef said?

Bev — I think she’s using “over” in the sense of “rather than”….

IE she didn’t put in area rugs cos her geometry skills are too weak to figure out areas.

Then her next “joke” is equally cornball…. (and right, Chireef.)

She’s one of those annoyingly hair-brained people who have to make lame puns out of everythi….

The joke appears to be the “inside” reference. The premise seems to be that it is easier to have a company install wall to wall carpeting than to find a 10×10 area rug for a 12×12 room.

Frankly I’m a bit shagged from thinking about it….

Personally, I found the joke a little obtuse today.

For those that didn’t get it, an annotated dialog:

As you can see we opted for wall-to-wall carpeting (instead of) area rugs, mostly because I stink at geometry (and therefore unable to choose appropriately shaped/sized rugs) LOL

I know a geometry joke, but I would be banned if I told it here. It is nice, however, to remember Something about geometry.

It can’t be an inside joke, (whatever the joke is…I don’t see it..) It’s laugh OUT loud, not laugh IN loud…..

Come on, guys, calculating area is geometry.
