Considering Mitt is descended from pure Isrealite stock via American Indian heritage { : ) }and his church’s historical overall race policies, one wonders how offended anyone you mentioned should be.
Ah, I see now what the odd two-faced Obama comic was about. A little CYA “balancing” action, was it?
To those protesting today’s comparison, hey, you’re right. The Republicans are still kind of murky about their racial policies and perhaps still too genteel to be compared to the Klansmen.
Let’s talk about Ryan’s unapologetically clear and vicious attacks on women’s rights, instead. No ambiguities there!
For everything that’s wrong with the GOP, at least they were never the party that defended slavery. (The Repub’s main crime in my book is that they too often forget they are supposed to be different from the party that in other countries would call themselves something like the Democratic Socialist Labor Party.)
The Democratic Party is no longer the racist and pro-slavery party of former KKK member Sen. Robert Byrd (D-VA). They’ve made tax slaves of every working American regardless of color.
Not to support the Klan (who are hateful), but at least they are open about their horrific prejudices and ignorance. The current Republican party doesn’t like most blacks, most women, the poor, the ill, the out-of-luck. They will trot out the very few mentioned above as a “sign” of their inclusiveness, but those “chosen few” definitely do not represent the face of the party, even if they emulate the all-white interior. The party of Lincoln ceased being the party of Lincoln many, many years ago.
The republican party hence doesn´t equal the republican party now unfortunately. Doesn´t even equal the republican party some 10-15 years ago even.<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>While the defenders of the Reich – Wing faction of the GOP, always try to point the finger at Southern Democrats as being the party of racists, they forget that the GOP Southern Strategy of the sixties and seventies converted all those Strom Thurmond Dixiecrats to the Republican Party. The great white flight to the right continues today. The Party of Lincoln is no more. GOP stands for Greedy, Overbearing, and Privileged !
If I am ever down on the poopers all I have to do is read NAOQV and the day brightens up like a 1000 watt light bulb! Todays was a hoot!!!! Keep it up.
I remember my history all right. In 1856, the Republicans were the anti-slavery party, and in 1865, they delivered. But in 1876, they stabbed the free blacks in the back to win a corrupt election, and from then on, there was no meaningful party against Jim Crow, though there can be no doubt the southern Democrats were the worst. In 1964, when the Democrats finally took an unequivocal stance against segregation, the Republicans took race over to be their very own, and that’s been the situation ever since.
what sentinal 1762 said is true, but the south, who controlled the Democratic party, (solid south) never accepted the freeing of the slaves. When Presidents Kennedy and Johnson signed the civil rights act, in mid sixties, the whole South turned Republican and that included the KKK..

I forwarded an email that had the term “white bread” describing Romney, not realizing that it is a racial slur, but when I found out I laughed.

Hmph, I think its not funny, but too true. Painful, in fact.

You fail to remember your history…
It was the election of the Republicans that ended slavery back in 1861, while the Southern Democrats wanted to continue such an institution…
Therefore, the character above would more likely represent “Butchering Biden” – that is, if you were trying to be historically accurate.

I used to enjoy this strip, but the cartoonist’s hack political lunacy has finally succeeded in driving me off. I won’t be back.

Frankly, I’m just amazed that Pab knows how to actually draw something.
It’s so hard to pick up when they don’t let you have any sharp objects…
What next?

An equal opportunity satire. You seem to have hit the nail on the head two days in a row with inconvenient truths for both major political parties.

Mittens is a corporation and as far as I can tell they can be any color they choose. In His case the color is opaque.
