I don’t think there are many people left who watched Ty Cobb, he was an original Hall of Fame inductee. He was known as the meanest man to play baseball. He would sharpen his cleats so he people would be afraid to tag him out when he stole bases.

I’m used to the talking dog/Babe Ruth joke as well. It usually ends with the dog asking his master, “Should I have said DiMaggio?”

Mainly the joke is that the talking dog gimmick did not work, so he ad-libbed.
