    Getting over a quarter of the answers wrong doesn’t exactly indicate a solid understanding of the material. It’s good that his father is setting his expectations higher than mediocre!

    With the dumbing down of math standards so that the students won’t damage their self-esteem, a 72 should be considered a solid A.

    Way back in the dark ages when I was in school, 72 was a D-. A 70 was an F. A 93 or above was an A.

    Back when I was in school (60s and 70s):100 to 90 = A89 to 80 = B79 to 70 = C69 to 60 = DBelow that – F
