Yeah, Right!!!

Either he’s cheating or June dressed up for a fantasy night out and they don’t recognize her.

Fred is a jerk….and he sure messed up Elly’s happy time with her husband…..hubby no slouch at this either!!!!

What does June look like? Do we know this isn’t June?

I would think that if neither Elly nor John think it’s June, then it most likely isn’t June. I like the idea of Elly going over to say hello. I don’t think it would be mean, but more of a sign of “we’ve seen you”. If Fred is doing the wrong thing, then he deserves to be uncomfortable. If Fred isn’t doing anything wrong, then it’s just a friend saying hello to another friend.

And then do the opposite?

Yes go over and say hi!!

They have only seen June in frumpy sweats with her hair a mess, running after kids. She got all dressed out for a night out with her husband and they don’t recognize her; Ellie will probably embarrass herself.

I’d go over and ‘hello’ It’s possible Fred has already seen them anyway.

I’d like to see them go say Hi. Let him know he’s caught.

I’d go over and say hello and ask about his wife. That happened to me once while having lunch with a man I thought was single…

Well, according to John Prine, Dear Abby’s response would go like this:

Elly, Elly, you have no complaint.You are what your are and you ain’t what you ain’t.So listen up Buster, and listen up good.Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood.

Of course You all realize you are just assuming that that is Fred.

This is horrible!

The horrible, age old dilemma: should you tell your friend that s/he is cheating or should you stay quiet? If you tell them, they may be angry that you ruined their relationship, but if you don’t tell them they may be angry that you weren’t honest with them. .cbrsarah, I’m similar to you . . . my SO doesn’t look at other people when we’re together – it isn’t insecurity, it’s just plain manners.

Lighten up. Did it ever occur to you that he might stop doing it if you stopped reacting. He’s not embarrassing you, you are. He’s just behaving as a normal male would.>>>>

@HowDuck, I think that actual “episode” happened as someone saw Lynn’s husband. I never had that problem because my X just flirted (must have thought women were attracted) but he only annoyed and embarrassed me. He never actually went after another woman until after our divorce when I met my lover and refused to even speak to him on the phone.

I definitely think John and Elly should go over and say “Hi” to good ol’ Fred and let him know that (if he is, indeed, cheating on June) he’s been caught!!!!! But you just never know. It’s also possible they may find out it’s one of the 3 following scenarios instead:

1.) It’s not really Fred; it’s just someone that looks like him.

2.) It’s really June in that sexy get-up for a “Fantasy Date Night” after all — they just didn’t recognize her wearing a dress, high heels, wig and make-up.

3.) Fred and June have split up/divorced and it’s not been announced to their friends yet. (Saw this plot line on an old “Roseanne” episode — only it was a woman friend the Connors saw out on a date in a restaurant with another man instead of her husband.)

(There would have been a 4th — she could be a sister, niece, cousin or some other relative — if it hadn’t been for the “nibbling” part.)
