I would think that if neither Elly nor John think itās June, then it most likely isnāt June. I like the idea of Elly going over to say hello. I donāt think it would be mean, but more of a sign of āweāve seen youā. If Fred is doing the wrong thing, then he deserves to be uncomfortable. If Fred isnāt doing anything wrong, then itās just a friend saying hello to another friend.
They have only seen June in frumpy sweats with her hair a mess, running after kids. She got all dressed out for a night out with her husband and they donāt recognize her; Ellie will probably embarrass herself.
Well, according to John Prine, Dear Abbyās response would go like this:
Elly, Elly, you have no complaint. You are what your are and you aināt what you aināt.So listen up Buster, and listen up good.Stop wishing for bad luck and knocking on wood.
@JanCinLV: from yesterdayWho are you to judge me? I expect my husband to pay attention to me when we are in public together, not browsing around at other women looking for an upgrade.
The horrible, age old dilemma: should you tell your friend that s/he is cheating or should you stay quiet? If you tell them, they may be angry that you ruined their relationship, but if you donāt tell them they may be angry that you werenāt honest with them. .cbrsarah, Iām similar to you . . . my SO doesnāt look at other people when weāre together ā it isnāt insecurity, itās just plain manners.
Lighten up. Did it ever occur to you that he might stop doing it if you stopped reacting. Heās not embarrassing you, you are. Heās just behaving as a normal male would.>>>>
@HowDuck, I think that actual āepisodeā happened as someone saw Lynnās husband. I never had that problem because my X just flirted (must have thought women were attracted) but he only annoyed and embarrassed me. He never actually went after another woman until after our divorce when I met my lover and refused to even speak to him on the phone.
I definitely think John and Elly should go over and say āHiā to good olā Fred and let him know that (if he is, indeed, cheating on June) heās been caught!!!!! But you just never know. Itās also possible they may find out itās one of the 3 following scenarios instead:
Ā
1.) Itās not really Fred; itās just someone that looks like him.
Ā
2.) Itās really June in that sexy get-up for a āFantasy Date Nightā after all ā they just didnāt recognize her wearing a dress, high heels, wig and make-up.
Ā
3.) Fred and June have split up/divorced and itās not been announced to their friends yet. (Saw this plot line on an old āRoseanneā episode ā only it was a woman friend the Connors saw out on a date in a restaurant with another man instead of her husband.)
Ā
(There would have been a 4th ā she could be a sister, niece, cousin or some other relative ā if it hadnāt been for the ānibblingā part.)
