I update my laptop’s wallpaper, so why not update the front of the fridge? lol! A friend of mine who’s into scrap-booking would store a scrapbook on top of the fridge. And every six months, she’d transfer the ‘fridge-art’ into the scrapbook, making room for new ‘fridge-art’. She has a son who enjoys drawing, and she says it’s like an evolution of how talented he’s getting at cartooning. :) She ‘updates’ fam-pics, too. I think it’s a good idea.
Some people have a string across the kids’ playroom where they hang their kids’ latest creations. When it is full, the kid chooses which one comes down to make a space for the new one. The parent either files it away in a box or takes a picture of it for posterity. My neighbor kept every single item from her kids’ childhood, and now that they’re in their 20’s they’re telling her they don’t want it. I try to keep the stuff that I feel they put some effort into or shows something important (to us), like a portrait of our family.
Love the way some of the pictures are taped to the sides of the fridge. (Our fridge sides are decorated, too.) Nowadays, though, there are a lot more magnets designed for fridge use than during Liz’s younger days, so we don’t have to use tape.
Mom,Just date the back of every creation. When a new one comes remove the oldest. Elizabeth is too young to decide what goes. Mom can decide what is worth keeping for posterity.
