LOL. When Liz is in 2nd or 3rd grade she will learn that a word beginning with a vowel should be preceded by an “an,” not an “a.” Unless they’re starting to teach those things in Kingarten now. I remember when Kindergarten was just playing; Nowadays they’re teaching arithmetic and reading in K.
My mother use to say ts things like that to me … It has had less then loving effect on me “Why did I ever have kids?” Not a good thing to say to a kid!
I don’t understand why parents forgive their kids for doing stuff like this. My stuff is precious to me & I could never forgive someone who damaged it. I don’t know what you do with a kid when they do something unforgivable. Put them up for adoption? Raise them anyway, but without any love or joy anymore? My boyfriend damaged one of my shirts (on purpose) about 9 yrs ago. We have continued to live together, but I have never forgiven him & I never let him forget it. It put a permanent rift in our relationship.
Bad Ellie! Kids are naturally curious, you should put the stuff up high if you don’t want her to get into it and oh I don’t know -watch your kids! It can do lasting damage for a kid to hear you say that. I was raised by my aunt and uncle and it really hurt when my aunt would say she never should’ve taken my sister and me in.
Never thought I’d be put in a position to agree with you (and I think your solution is a bit extreme), but if a ruined shirt 9 years ago keeps coming up, it’s well past time for the guy to cut and run; about 9 years past time.

Way to cut that rant short (and make Elly feel about two inches tall in the process)!

If you listen to Rev. Stark Jones, most of his children were glorious accidents.

If it wasn’t for little accidents, half of us wouldn’t be here!

No children are accidents, but a few are surprises!

That got Elly thinking. But why did John tell Lizzie she was an accident?

Calling kids “accidents” is demeaning. I prefer miracles.
