Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for September 18, 2012
Transcript:
Mom: Morning, Alice! Uh-oh, is somebody grumpy today? Alice: No. Mom: Well, it's a brand new day, full of brand new sunshine! Alice: Hey! Mom: So cheer up! It's a brand new day, full of things you've never seen before! Alice: Fine. Mom: Those are your brand new feet. Put them on the floor and get ready for school. Alice: What are those things? I've never seen them before.

This was the perfect strip for today. My youngest kiddo told me that she is already sick of this school year. It isn’t the classes or the homework, but she is tired of having to get up so early. I sent this to her. I’m sure she’ll have great appreciation (said with irony dripping from every word.)

Speaking as a late comer to this strip, I would be thrilled if Mr. Thompson simply started with Cul de Sac #1 and published them all again. I am going to miss this strip terribly. Best wishes to your and yours Sir.

It is my understanding that Cul de Sac will be in reruns. Where it will start from, I don’t know. I for one will take what I can get. Hang in there Richard! There are MANY, MANY people praying and pulling for you and your family!

I’m reading a strip that I’ve read so many times before, smiling and wiping tears from my eyes. Five more days just isn’t enough. I’m going to so miss seeing my daily dose of the antics of Alice, Beni, Dill, Petey, Nara, Marcus, Ernesto, Andre, Loris, Miss Bliss, Timmy Fretwork, Viola, Peter and Madeline Otterloop, the Uh Oh Baby, Mr. Danders (or should it be Dr. Danders?) and even Kevin with his big old bucket head. Be well, Mr. Thompson, take care and if you can find a way to bring us an occasional glimpse into the lives of the kids and adults we’ve come to know so well, we’ll be here waiting.
Damn, I’m gonna miss this strip.

Me too. But after the 22nd, Freshly Squeezed which follows this strip in my lineup will be first in line Sept. 23nd.

I too will sorely miss this cartoon strip. Reruns from day 1 would be great but nothing will ever replace originals from Richard Thompson. All the best to you Richard Thompson and thanx for creating this cartoon strip.
