Alice: I'm not sure what I want for Christmas, but it should be something big. Dad: How about a greater awareness of yourself in relation to the rest of the known universe? Petey could illustrate it in shoebox diorama form. Petey: Hee hee hee! Alice: Ew. I don't like homemade presents. Store-bought stuff has nicer packaging.

Alice misses the point. Or does she? (Still, I like Peter’s pointed suggestion, even if it flew over her four-year-old head)….

As far as Alice is concerned, she is the center of the known universe. Which is ridiculous, because I am.

They only let the kids eat with forks? (Although I see even Dad only has a spoon in addition to his.) Maybe Mom is afraid if they had knives they’d try to kill each other?

Did you all notice that Petey separated his food into non-touching little piles?

My mother tells me that when she was a little girl, my Aunt would separate her food into piles…when she was told “it all mixes together in your stomach”, she hardly ate anything for a week!

The 1st & 3rd frames are from Petey’s POV, the 2nd from Alice’s. Interesting.
