Petey sure is a nervous wreck over the littlest things going “awry.”

Just think what kind of strips Richard could have written about Petey during the pandemic if he had lived.

Poor kid. He needs help.

Just one major crisis after another; created by his Mom, no less.

This is a kid with serious phobias.

He’s never run so fast in his life!

Petey! Don’t believe everything you think.

Petey reminds me sooo much of Young Sheldon.

Have we ever seen Petey RUNNING before?

Today we watch Petey die of thirst with a bottle of clean water within reach. (what a dweeb)

That weirdness. That paranoia. That orange hair. Could it be? ….

Petey’s “Wait! Don’t! Pick it up!” reminds me of an old Popeye cartoon, in which my probably faulty memory has Olive Oyl eating some of the magic spinach and at the end of the cartoon, she’s “Bench-Pressing” Popeye and kissing him each time he’s closest to her. He’s going “Don’t! Stop! Don’t! Stop! Don’t stop! Don’t stop! don’tstopdon’tstopdon’tstop”… ☺

So he’s a picky drinker as well as a picky eater.

Just a tad indoorsy ><

Petey’s dropped food rule is, sadly, a nanosecond.

Just pick up the water bottle Petey. You won’t catch cooties from the ground.

Yup – he’s going to make a ferocious defender!

I see him wearing a MOPP suit to high school.

Panel 2: all the proof necessary that Petey does have What It Takes to “play” soccer!

It occurs to me that if Richard had been able to tell more of Petey’s story, we might have found out that he grew up to be Adrian Monk….

Somebody explain to Petey that spring water comes out of the ground.

I am so sick of this ‘pandemic’ I do not want to see it as the subject of comic strips, movies, TV shows, books, or ANYTHING.
