That must be that Marlin/Colt/Winchester .30/30, 45/70, 12 ga. over/under, side by side, lever action, semi automatic, double barreled popgun, with night scope and open infrared sights. A very rare weapon.
I gotta agree with you LVD, that #2 panel is ridiculous! It looks like the crook is being swallowed up by some black hole! And another thing, I have actually been enjoying the storyline here, but DL is so wrong in continuously keeping the explanation of the crime hidden until the last minute, as he has done in so many of his plots (Sydney could probably give you the stats)! I suppose the logic behind it is to keep the reader guessing right to the end, but that just doesn’t work in this type of media!!!
Yesterday’s panel had so much promise… It was action, fisticuffs and even well illustrated! Now we have a wall that eats people and an indecisive shotgun trying to work out what exactly it wants to be…
You know, I’m sure the ‘something with big teeth’ will turn out to be some previously-unknown large dog or bizarre wall-mounted bear trap, but I think I’d be happier if it was just a predatory wall. DL could only improve by letting this strip descend into the supernatural horror it already appears to feature. Example - that stain upon One-Eye’s face? It’s an evil symbiote, controlling his actions! B.O. and Gertie? The deformed, violent caretakers of the monster house!
“A wall that’s eating a foot”.
I like that discription Grok. It seems so accurate looking at the panel. The shoe and half the lower leg have already been consumed.
Do these guys sleep soundly at night. (?)
Do Editors nod in approval (or nod off) when this passes ?
N7326F says: i consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to firearms, but what the heck is Gertie holding?….. N7, to me, it clearly represents the Winchester Model 94 30/30. the perfect saddle rifle.
The lever to bleeep it is missing? You’ve got to be kidding. I can’t describe the action used to chamber a round or prepare a weapon for firing with out being bleeping bleeped? The lever to bleeep it, oh my goodness!
Does that Wall in panel two represent the TMS Editor or the Computer at Go Comics? A lot of knee-jerk action
It gave me today’s laugh, and I’m sure caught morrow and Dypack completely by surprise. That’s what happens when computers have “smutty” thinking programers. And all you wanted to say was that the gun was cocked
Seems it assumes only “one” kind of cock-a-doodle-do thing, when it reads those four letters (?)
Well that seems approved. Next time write, “When you want to”cock-a-doodle” your gun” etc etc

Whoever said that the thug was still stuck with his foot in something’s mouth was spot on.

Gertie, the intruder’s ain’t breakin’ in. THEY ARE IN!
Panel 2 is absurd.
Marguerite, I made the comment yesterday that the henchman was still stuck and still screaming. I guess I was right :)

Back on the 18th Gertie was a right-hander. A day or two later, she had a long-gun in each hand. Now, shes a leftie!

The lever to bleep it? That’s too funny. How else would you describe the levering action on a bb gun?

Has him by the ankle? In panel 3 it’s up to his chest, and sending out tendrils of doom!
Maybe it’s the same thing that lives on half of OEJ’s face…

I wonder if you can pump a shotgun without being bleeped?

Guess so.

Now I get it - Sunday was a recap after all! It was the wrong week, that’s all … or a precognitive recap … a precap?
So now instead of having new strips all week and a pointless recap on Sunday, we have a new strip on Sunday and pointless recaps the rest of the week.
