Looks like Pops is beginning to have some issues with the plot.

**Gasp! Pops actually notices that something may be wrong with the Strad?

Yes, margueritem, it seems that he has sensed it has been fiddled with.

Has the maestro noticed that the Stradivaius has been tampered with or is it ‘strange’ that it reappeared after it’s disappearance. In any event, it appears that they have confused the scanner operator and it will not be scanned. Can hardly wait until tomorrow’s episode.

Hmm! Seems we’re back into over hurried “paste up” panels on the left. Looks exactly like a panel from the Sunday page - “kinky kiddie” shoes, legs and all.

“I’m late, I’m late, for an expiring submission date … No time to stop, no time to chat, I’m late, I paste, I paste !

If Pops is playing now, it’s not a quartet anymore now, is it. That would be 5 players. Sounds like their the Backstreet Boys now!

”Strange?” … really nothing to fear, “Fearless Fosdick” is there.

Remember, Chief “jerky priority” Lizz had a whimsical premonition something would “happen” there. So our top detective had to do a “180 degree”, and drop that “important” domestic violence case (“needed” she said, “to make the police look good”). Now that objective’s all forgotten, and he’s surprisingly, doing Body Guard duties at an Embassy.

The Ambassador may know his Rock, but does he know the bravery quotient (cage related) of this “Fearless” Cop?

Just a thought - whatever happened to the Major Crime Squad? Why is our Chief of Detectives assigned to these piddling duties ?

Good thing he took the strad out of the lead-lined violin case so it could be scanned. Someday we’ll have x-rays that can penetrate those perplexing violin cases…

Just got #9 of the IDW Dick Tracy 44-45 —The Brow, 3 months, about 6 different venues with a bunch of interesting characters. Shaky 4-5 different venues about 3 month, Measles all over the U.S 3-4 months. This Strad Story–about 3 months already and nothing has happened for about 21/2 of them. Amazing

And Mumbles a lot of what you mentioned is probably action (or at least moves the story along). In the current incarnation of the strip all people do is stand around and talk.

Oh, this is really your fabulously valuable violin? Of course I’ll take your word that you’re the rightful owner, even though I’ve never seen you before. Go ahead, take it…

    GAH!

    Good question Dylanio21,

That’s what happens when Sunday is a “repeat” of the previous Monday to Friday. Mondays are mostly a “reload” to refresh readers on the previous weeks daily strips.(as if they didn’t already get it on Sunday). Tuesday to Thursday is “usually” a “stalling/coasting” time and then, a “tit-bit” of “progress” is released Friday to Saturday.

Keep an eye “open”, and you’ll find the above to be generally true.

A stubborn Locher has no intention of changing this “turtle” moving, faulty routine. No wonder then, that this is a comic strip clothed in “DRAG”.
