I’d blame the colorist for the brown club soda. Or maybe he’s never seen club soda? The panel 1 silhouette figures are indeed easily recognized. This being SoS’s last night, and the MCS being present, something must be going down….
Two Cueballs, drugs in the cello case, the MCS at a SoS show, I think the excitement is gonna happen “off stage”. At least the crowd will get their moneys worth…
Ginger ale is much lighter…a pale yellow at best. I think the colorizer thought club soda was something like Coke or Pepsi. For once, we’re all in agreement on the color.
I saw this strip first in B&W, then came here for the comments. My first reaction upon seeing the color was “Oh, my God,” and not in a good way. The brown club soda is not the only bizzare choice made by the colorist.
my way of thinking is that the colorist saw a panel to color and the note of it being club soda, however since everyone knows that club soda is clear, the colorist chose “any color” so that it would show up that tracy has a beverage in his glass. the “club soda” tag verifies that tracy si drinking club soda. if the colorist was to have left it “blank” i am sure someone woulda hung him out to dry for that too. seems you cant win or lose. oh and matt, for the record.. i now can see differences between the sunday colored pages and the daily colored pages. still, i dont think its THAT big of a deal tho
Why point out club soda? Is this a lesson that police officers and detectives should not drink on the job? “Hey, mac—whaddaya want? A beer?” “N-No, sir. I-I-I’ll have a club s-soda, please.” lol

Yeah, right. Brown club soda. I am deeply shocked that Pat is smoking in a family strip. Shocked, I tell you.

I believe that they may be on duty, so they can’t drink.

@margueritem: “Club soda” my foot. Club soda ain’t brown. Oh, sure—blame it on the colorizer.

Barticle, you said Pat is smoking. I don’t see him; only Sam. Or am I missing something?
