Mornin’ all! This strip shows how good Team Tracy is —Mike’s given us another unexpected plot development, with believable dialogue. (I hope Mr. Crime’s not listening!)Joe’s on the top of his form, taking characters who could – with a lesser artist – just be cartoony freaks look realistic (albeit exaggerated). (Love the details in Little Face’s expressions.)And Shelley’s inks and lettering (as always) brings it all together. The way Team Tracy has turned around this strip could (I hope) be the beginning of a revival of the adventure strip.
Good for Little Face! I just hope he’s good at staying alive! Maybe he could join in Mole’s philanthropic work. Tracy is going to owe him, big-time, if his info helps clean up the MCU and bring down Panda and maybe even Mr. Crime!
#11!!! go me! lol! back to the strip.. how much does little face KNOW tho? maybe panda and mr crime knew (or at least suspected) thatd he’d switch sides and thats why they didnt have anything for him when he was recruited? all he knows is that theres a ole in the HQ.. but if the squad begins checking it out, pand and company will know. maybe the tracy agency us going to be the meeting place for a while
What a crazy idea! Treating a fellow human being (I.e., a fellow maker of mistakes) like a fellow human being and suggesting that with a little luck he might make more intelligent choices in the future? I had no idea Tracy was so soft on crime.
(The most effective mole is an idea, not a person).
Tarry and cpalmeresq, thanks for the reminder, and for those you would remind us of.
This storyline just keeps getting better and better. Hopefully Panda and friends won’t catch on to Little Face’s actions. We’ve already seen what they do to troublemakers.
sigh And as soon as I saw Littleface, I thought two things: 1 surely some of these criminals will have been rehabilitated, and 2 Tracy and Littleface parted on good company, I think he’ll bwe a mole for the police. So much for the fame and fortune I could have gotten by writing this a month ago. But now I think his life is very much in danger.
These guys have completely turned this strip in a 180, and it’s awesome. Been following it again since they took over last year, and it’s been great. So true to the strip’s original spirit.
As I recall, Dick Tracy also shook hands with Stooge Viller. Pity the latter died in his hospital bed only a minute or so afterwards. If Stooge had recovered — who knows? He might have gone the way of the Mole, and now (presumably) Little Face.
Just checked and Chester Gould couldn’t make up his mind on Little Face’s name, not only was it spelled “Little Face” and “Littleface”, but also “Finny” and one time only, “Finney”! Mike and crew have both variations of his last name covered! ;-)

Little Face has seen the inside of his last jailcell. Hopefully he’ll stay alive when Panda and Mr. Crime find out he’s flipped.

Huh. He was a jewel thief, surely, but he also kidnapped a woman at gunpoint and shot 2 people, including a police officer.
