I don’t understand the logic of Forsythe. He has a gun aimed at him at nearly point blank range, & instead of leaving as Tracy had ordered. he stays to in effect commit suicide, by trying to grab Tracys gun, with his back to the hangman. To make matters worse, it appears that Tracy has lost his grip on his gun, so neither will have it, as it goes flying.
How do we know Forsythe isn’t putting Tracy right in position to make it easier for the Hangman to hit Tracy? Forsythe may even be a member of Flattop’s family.
Now Forsythe has gone and done it!Doomed, as I had predicted, Forsythe clearly takes a bullet from The Hangman for his foolishness. And now, having lost his grip on his gun, Tracy also is at risk; The Hangman has the option of shooting or of trying to hang Tracy in place of Byrd. He seems not to be too choosey as to the actual identity of hs victim but rather more determined to make a statement about or around the film. And yet, his real motivation remains opaque….
I hate to get nit-picky here, but I don’t understand the “click” in panel two. Their weapons are semi-automatic weapons. There is no “click” like you would have if you were cocking a revolver.. And it’s not like The Hangman is cycling his slide to load a round into the chamber, he would have already done that. The ONLY thing I can think of that would make a “click” would be to turn the safety selector switch (not all guns have them) from “safe” to “fire”, but in this situation, who goes into an altercation with their weapon on “safe”? What am I missing?
I tend to agree with everyone. There is several inconsistencies on this that are suggesting there is more than a simple revenge/stopping the movie plot.
There’s something very off here. Why would the Hangman forsake his theme?____________________He came in on a helicopter, now is not the time for ‘style’ He couldn’t possibly expect to stage a hanging/suicide.________________________________________________Also, is it possible Forsythe lives? And then retaliates against Tracy for not avenging his friend Freddy’s death by taking on the persona of Flattop ???
Hello all (with a flick of the fedora to Vista Bill & C) In panel two, does the “click” represent a misfire? If so,the guilty gatt must be, by hand, re-racked before it may rejoin the fight.
This is another one of those stories where there are more questions than answers and so many details skipped so that it doesn’t make any sense. I hope they wrap this up in some coherent manner that explains why everything is this way because the last story ended with more holes than swiss cheese.

Ouch!

Guess that clarifies Forsythe’s motivation.

Forsythe’s taking the bullet and Tracy will get the noose, if The Hangman gets his way

We still know little – if anything – about what’s driving “The Hangman” though.

Could The Hangman be firing blanks and what Forsythe did was to prevent Tracy from using his gun with real bullets?

The biggest necessary suspension of disbelief here is that no one has tried to sue somebody …
… unless you count Vera Alldid.
