It’s weird to see Mr. Kleen working on Tracy’s case but I suppose he’s the best defense attorney around.
It’s also weird to see Tracy with something other than his police wrist gadget on his wrist. It looks to me like it’s a Flintstones watch. It is Barney’s “Bedrock PC” after all.
So, apparently the incriminating video is on a VHS cassette. Very “old-school” but Barney has the equipment for it. I suppose that a lot of people don’t have VCRs these days.
The hand putting the tape in the VCR isn’t Tracy’s. Tracy is to the side in shadow. So someone else is wearing the unusual watch. Probably Barney Dhatkham who we see in the background in panel 2. I just noticed Sam misspelled Barney’s last name, it’s different than the sign below. Not that I’m complaining, just something I observed.
Wonder if Mr Kleen has managed to keep his reputation as an honest lawyer? Or is Tracy pullling a REALLY deep scam to get Mr Kleen and the rest of the Apparatus?
Sorry but this is just completely unbelievable. Tracy has had numerous run-ins with Mr Kleen in the courtroom (and so has sam so really, the introduction was unnecessary) and they BOTH expressed “disgust” (for lack of a better term) about how Kleen got Doubleup off of the previous charges AND how he got Mumbles and B.B. Eyes out of jail.
For Tracy….AND WARBUCKS!!! to even consider associating with him just smacks in the face of realism.
No cop or detective worth his salt would entertain the thought of hiring him for their defense.
Sorry, this is a HAYUGE error on the writer’s part
Yes, it’s from a 1986 episode of “The Flintstone Kids.” It was the only readily available picture of a Flintstones sundial watch that I could find, although I imagine I’ve seen one like it in the original series, too.
Why does Tracy even need a defense attorney anyway? He hasn’t been accused of any crime. At worst, it’s been implicated that he’s demonstrated poor professional judgement by having a romantic encounter with a known felon. Still, nothing illegal.

Barney can be glimpsed – in silhouette – between Tracy and “Mr. Kleen” in Panel Two.

I can see Barney being a nod to Barney Rubble since VHS tapes are dinosaurs. Love Barney’ s last name.
