1) the secretary already confirmed Hickman set the fire
2) if Hickman was going to set a fire youd think he would have dismissed the secretary early so he wouldn’t have witnesses, heck he went so far as to close the blinds so nobody would see, so that makes no sense
3) if the fire was set in the vault, I don’t see how it spread so quickly AND managed to decimate the entire building… the vaults are extra reinforced so as to not permit anyone to break into them.. it would have taken a much LARGER blaze to do this much damage
4) aren’t most vaults OUTSIDE the president’s offices in the majority of banks? why would this one have a vault IN his office?
5) if the secretary SAW him set the blaze… then where was SHE when he set it? if MUST have walked past her with the garbage barrel and a match to get into the vault for her to see him set it
6) If she saw him set it, then the door to the vault would have to have been open.. I dunno bout YOU, but if it was ME.. I woulda slammed the vault door shut
7) Unless Hickman didn’t really care about his employees and their deaths, setting a fire in the vault of a crowded bank in the morning would certainly have killed everyone inside.. NONE of the employees copuld have been implicated in the embezzlement that hickman was taking part in, so taking the chance of having so many witnesses/casualties makes no sense. no matter HOW distraught he may have been, in cases like these, the person only wants to ‘eliminate’ themselves
8) No mention of Blackjack being apprehended at all in the paper.. did Tracy let him walk AGAIN!?!?!?!
9) If he DIDNT let him walk, expect to see Fritz Ann come to ‘collect her prize’ sometime this week
10) Who knew that the savings and loan was so close to those train tracks.. cuz I sure hear that train whistle a-blowin’!
