I don’t think B-B Eyes deserves to be out on bail, although that’s no surprise.
It was Tim Jackel’s idea for Trixie to scam Oliver Warbucks out of as much money as possible. (I’m sure the lawyer got a cup.)
I got the impression that Gypsy was telling Trixie not to scam Oliver, but she’s being described as a “golddigger” here. I have only read a little bit of it. Maybe she’s worse than I thought.
interesting point to people of that ethnic group, the term ‘gypsy’ is considered as bad an insult as the ‘n’ word is to black people. Yet no cartoon today would dare run that word.
I like seeing B-B Eyes again but I am a bit confused. For which crime is he out on bail? Is it the murder/disappearance of Trixie 20 years ago or his recent arrest with the Blackhearts? It seems to me that his previous recent appearances have simply been ignored in this arc. It seems that they would have enough to hold him without bail on several crimes and several counts in each crime. The violent gun battle at Ace Tower would make him a candidate too dangerous for release on bail. Perhaps Diet Smith’s time experiment screwed up the timeline and that’s why the strip seems to be jumping around in time and presents a continuity which seems to be lacking.
Confused? Join the club? Consistency? Surely you jest? BTW, that is Stan Laurel, like BB he died years ago. He’s now out on bail because he has good attorney’s..Dewey, Screwum and Howe.
1- BOWTIE: Hey boss. Did you get cat scratch fever when your kitty scratched your eye? 2- TURTLENECK: Hey boss. We know you pull cards from the deck thinking we can’t see through that smoke screen you keep pumping out. 3- BB: How many you want Turtleneck? And where do you want ‘em? TURTLENECK: I’ll take…oh. Fold! I fold boss! BOWTIE: I fold too boss! You win again! BB: Yep. 38 slugs are wild and I got 6 of them right here…BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM! TURTLENECK: Nice hand boss…ugh….
I can’t see the fountain. Does anyone see anything odd about the pips on BB Eyes’ cards?Last night CHML broadcast two old radio Dick Tracy episodes. (Villain: Umpapa the quack.)
For now, I don’t see where this is going. But I guess there is a certain structural logic in dragging even more characters from The Old Days (of Little Orphan Annie, no less) into this plot. The plot roils….

I thought sleeve garters like the Stan Laurel guy is wearing went out in the gay 90s (1890s that is).
