Well, Dale is equally brilliant…Instead of staying home and sheltering, when he hears the sirens,he runs over to the Pennys’ house….
Risking his life (no doubt more ignorantly than heroically) to warn his “best friends” … whom he should know are too selfish to share their shelter with him even if he HAD saved them.
Nor would Captain Burl “Civil Defense” Penny ever give him credit for knowing about a tornado first anyway.
This is about as asinine as I’ve seen them get……..but I’m glad they did it: they look ridiculous down in there, and it’s AMAZING that they both fit. WHAT A GREAT SIGHT GAG!!
Now, what’s really going to be funny is (after the storm passes without harming them….notice how nobody in this strip actually gets hurt?): I bet they’re stuck tight in there, and need the local F.D. or maybe some guys from the garage to come with tools and saw the table out from around them!!
Hate to break it to you Dale, but that little table ain’t going to give you any kind of protection if that tornado comes tearing straight thru the house. I’m sure you all have plenty of time to get to the basement.
