BAD DOG!!!

Not long after my wife brought her home, our Sophie was exploring a box of offcut lumber on the porch. She carefully selected a six inch long chunk of kiln-dried pine 2×4, laid down to start to work on it, and within a few hours had reduced it to splinters no bigger than a pencil. That dog has cleaner teeth and sweeter breath than my dentist.

Our puppy chewed on the spindles on the staircase.

we used a crib wall as a wider doorway gate for our pup, it was chewed through, we joked that it was a prison break

I’ve still got my lovely pine table that got its legs ruined by a puppy. Unfortunately it’s so bad it now does duty as a laundry table in the basement.

So this is why Alex chewed the cabinet door in half and the pantry door in the kitchen, boy glad he left our sofa and chairs alone. Though could be cause the love seat was “his” and the chair by the front bay window was “his” LOL

Back in the day when my kids were small I got a puppy that would soon grow into a very large sweet dog. I tied him out on our small front porch for awhile, and he chewed through the post supporting the roof of the porch. He also ate glass, and lived to tell about it. He was the best dog though. He loved my kids and watched them like a hawk.

Puppies, oh what a time. Our colonial kitchen chairs suffered the worst due to our German Shepard puppy who grew to 113# and lived 12 years. Excellent for that large of a dog.

I remember one year our German Sheppy mix came home with a deer skull with antlers – he dragged it from the woods. He was SOO proud of himself! My husband was going to give them the antlers to chew on but never got around to it (but we did take pictures of my dog’s prize.) That Sheppy was walking around like he killed it himself… so funny.

This was why my plastic toys from when I was a toddler had puncture holes. We had a sweet but undisciplined beagle puppy.

If ‘we’ have owned it……‘they’ have eaten it!
