I watched my cousin’s dog this spring for a week. Boy was she stubborn, I think it was all the river walks she gets to do off leash. Because actually making one block on leash in town was a miracle. One morning Grandma was walking her while I was asleep and the dog just sat down because Grandma wouldn’t let her go in every person’s yard. Harley is a sixty pound lab-pit-curly tail mix so poor 5’1 Grandma couldn’t lift her and couldn’t leave her to get me (she never remembers to take her phone) half a block away. After maybe a good half hour she saw a police car drive by and flagged him down to help her. And that is the story of how Harley got picked up by a cop.

Our St Bernard was a rescue who did not like the leash
She improved a lot over the years, but walking her was always a good workout

C’mon! Let Sophie take a smell. Whose walk is it, anyway?

Good thing for Sophie she isn’t sporting a choke collar…

My current dog is more of a vacuum cleaner on walks. Head down, sniffing out anything that could possibly be food. I should have named him “Hoover.”
