Oh my, that brings back memories. When I was a kid, we had a 1951 Chevy sedan with a similar profile, only it was black. We would get our Christmas tree at a lot surrounded by overhead strings of Edison lights. Dad would tie it to the roof of the car to bring it home.
Watching my husband, & now my adult sons, too, bake the Christmas cookies. Did not find out about this event until the first Christmas after getting married. My husband wanted to continue the tradition of his beloved father. Who am I to stop such dedication? Best darned tradition ever! ;)
Decorating the Christmas tree with ornaments that are almost as old as me, and one from my husband’s childhood tree that might actually be older than I am. These are hung alongside new ones. DH gets me a dated one every year; I get him an undated one that matches one of our multiple themes…cats, owls, gnomes, penguins….
Our first year, we bought a lil, round, fir tree. Our second year, a guy the Hubs worked with GAVE us an artifical tree!!! His wife got it when she couldn’t get the one she wanted, then she promptly bought the one she’d wanted when they went on sale after Christmas!!! He was sooo maaad at her, but, he gave us the tree, just to get it outta dah house. We had it over 20 years & it just wore out. Now, the current tree is on it’s last legs, after 20 years. Go figger.

Very nice indeed. My son has his own 7 foot Christmas tree. I enjoy watching him decorate it each year any way he wants to. It always looks wonderful.
