du55: your argument would be more convincing if you had spelled “Lincon” (Lincoln) correctly. And G.W. Bush would be a better example of a college-educated disaster than the Unabomber, wouldn’t he?
Still, you are correct that people with little or no formal education do occasionally perform brilliantly. On the other hand, they are (statistically speaking) relatively rare. The smart money bets on the guy with the college degree, not on the dittohead in the tinfoil hat.
