Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for December 31, 2009
Transcript:
B.D.: Palin is the future, Boopsie- she creates excitement! Boopsie: I thought you disaproved of celebrity candidates... The last person the party needs to lead it out of the wilderness is a polarizing know-nothing! You're wrong about her! B.D: I... I don't believe this... Boopsie: What? B.d: How long have you had your own opinions? Sam: For years! Ha Boopsie: Thanks for noticing.

Boopsie has (and expresses!) an opinion thatâs not an echo of BDâs! You GO, girl!

Oh, I do recall she shared some (coughPolanskicough) opinions with Sid a few weeks back.
How long has she paid attention to politics?

Whatâs with the way GT draws Boopsie and Samâs eyes? Almost as bad as my avatar, & makes âem look a little zombie-ish.
Hereâs hoping we donât sleep-walk our way into 2010 - wish you all a superb year ahead!

DB needs to give up this Archie Bunker-type attitude he has. Itâs the 21st century, not the mid-20th century.

Glad to see BD and Boopsie are staying with this conversation. Paris, another hot female who became a celebrity just for being a celebrity, created some excitement and buzz with a (faux) presidential candidacy back in 2008. BD wants a hot candidate. Boopsie wants a leader. Go Boopsie!

If Boopsie would go back to channeling Hunk-Ra, Iâd vote for her over any of the REAL candidates weâve had lately.

No â Left wing knee jerk reaction. No time to listen and evaluate, just demonize.

Yeah, while they label their own people (including dunces like Kerry and Gore) as intellectuals.

I would LOVE to see Palin try to debate Kerry, Gore, Clinton or Obama. Bring it on! And who cared about sexism when Hillary was in the battle? Not the GOP hypocrites. âDunces like Kerry and Goreâ what a joke! It was probably the intellectualism of both of those two which ultimately brought them down in their campaigns. Though of course, Gore won the popular vote, just didnât have the opportunity to get more advocates on the Supreme Court as in the Reagan-Bush years.Kerry speaks multiple languages and probably would have been a better candidate as Secretary of State, though Clinton will probably need a break before the 2nd Obama administration. Being Secretary of State is quite a job. Go Doonesbury! And as for the right wingers who donât appreciate him, why are you wasting your time? You have Rush, Beck, Savage, the rest of Fox News, the National Review, etc., etc., etc.

Yes, who would think of Harvard Grads as intellectualls?
When the leading minds of the right, Osama bin limbaugh dropped out of Southeast Missouri State University , and Palin dropping out of Hawaii Pacific University only to attend North Idaho community College.
hizzoner- just keep ironing your brownshirts while watching fox.

montessori, Scratch Limbaugh for a while. He is recovering from overdosing in prep for the New Year. Sure hope they donât have him on a morphine drip in the hospital.

thepeoplesmushroom âŠWhich school did Abrahm Lincon graduate from? Walt Disney? Bill Gates? Thomas Edison? George Washington? Orville Wright?
What about Ted Kaczynski?
Try not to be so close minded that you make irrational umbrella statements.

Next thing you know, âBoopsieâ will insist on being called âBarbara Ann!â

Boopsieâs been drawn in that wide-eyed style since her cheerleading days. She HAS grown a lot lately, but if she suddenly got the dark half-circles that everybody else has, how would we know it was her? (Sam, of course, inherited her motherâs eyes rather than her fatherâs.)

montessoriteacher, come now⊠donât hold back - tell us what you really think.
Although, in Obamaâs case, Palin would probably be debating the TelePrompTers.
puddleglum1066 about 15 years ago
du55: your argument would be more convincing if you had spelled âLinconâ (Lincoln) correctly. And G.W. Bush would be a better example of a college-educated disaster than the Unabomber, wouldnât he?
Still, you are correct that people with little or no formal education do occasionally perform brilliantly. On the other hand, they are (statistically speaking) relatively rare. The smart money bets on the guy with the college degree, not on the dittohead in the tinfoil hat.
