This is NOT a rerun.

Actually, the third and fourth frames are reruns.

Did we know before that the twins commenced during commencement?
MississippiRedagain about 11 years ago
I did not know the twins came that way
rpmurray about 11 years ago

Stuff smuff!! One thing at a time! I still want to know how JJ takes to being a grandma, what’s going on in the condo down the road, what Drew’s big news is, and the how is Ray’s rehab going? The politics can come along later!
Astolat about 11 years ago
It’s called Doonesbury for a reason (and that reason isn’t Mike any longer). Going back into the politics of the past few months would make it look like a rerun…
Mind you, the first frame makes it very clear GBT is male. “Plop, plop” is not normally how it goes!

I like it..It deals with growth of parenting confidence and recognition we live in an imperfect world and do an imperfect job yet most survive for decades.

MEMORIES….

A very satisfactory return! The twins will be so pleased to find out they hit the ground like cow pies when they emerged – and in front of the entire graduating class of MIT! (It is MIT, isn’t it?)

Welcome back to the daily Doonesbury strips in first run.

When my daughter was a newborn, she cried dtrhough most of every night. Someone tried to be helpful by saying, “It’ll only last for three months or so.”
“Three MONTHS?” I said, “I’m trying not to blow my brains out by five o’clock TODAY!”
This happened in 1980 and seems like only yesterday. So, yeah, I think most everybody who is or has ever been a new parent can identify with this strip.

Garry’s the artist, we’re the audience. Those that don’t like the strip must have their own somewhere that we don’t know about.

and rpmurray,
Don’t tolerate it! You have high standards and deserve better treatment: submit a request for your money back; I am sure you will get all you have a right to. p.s. Please, send us the URL of you new, really good strips.Mitchtheone almost 11 years ago
Yes, I remember the 1am feeding.. The 2am feeding.. 3:30am feeding.. 5am?! Come on! Kid, give it a rest already..(listens to the sound of the cry) ‘Oh diaper change.. Sorry, about that…’ Shuffles out the boy room. Looking like a reject from the night of the living dead..
Daddy did the full Monty of taking care of the boy.. Day time was hers shift. I was the one to get up at night with boy. Made good money then. Was able to have the luxury.. This is not Europe.. of staying home the first three months.

Many of us have been there, done that. How do any of them ever survive infancy is a thought that goes through your mind.

An OK re-entry strip, but I hope this recycling of a very old joke leads somewhere better.

Breast milk? UGH! That is sooooooooo unnatural!

And we’re back.

Plop! Plop!, but where’s the Fizz! Fizz! ??
arizonat almost 11 years ago
And life now goes on. I see JJ moving closer to Alex, and, without the baggage (but then he will still show up until moved into the old charater storage room).
pbarnrob almost 11 years ago
At about six months, they are crawling around, and everything goes in the mouth (Ooh! What’s this taste like?) If they survive that, we follow them around anyway, hoping to keep the worst nasty germs (etc.) away from them.IF we don’t stifle them too much, they’ll continue Exploring The Universe. It’s what humans do, after all! The second kid, we don’t hover quite so much, and the third; mudpies are just fine (and they are likely healthier for that, and Mom’s antibodies!) Cheers, all, and welcome back GT!

welcome back.g.b…very welcome back..

We’ve missed you, G.T. Some for the joy of your strip, others for the pleasure they derive from trashing your strip.Oh well, you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your readers.Welcome back.

I have to agree with rpmurray, Eward Snowden’s revelations and the conviction of Bradley Manning and he chooses to lead with this? 10 years ago he would be putting the boot in, but he seems incapable of criticising Obama.
Newshound41 almost 11 years ago
It isn’t a dirty word if you are referring to the Patriot Act.
BE THIS GUY almost 11 years ago
So did Newt Gingrich; how did that work out for him?
Greg Johnston almost 11 years ago
Is that the smell that comes off your crack pipe? What, pray tell, might be the charge for impeachment? You do realize there actually has to be charge, not merely that you don’t like the guy?
